Richard Chin joined Charlton's academy at U9 level.

The versatile defender, who previously captained the U18s, signed a professional deal with the club in July 2021.

Chin earned his first team debut in a Papa John's Trophy tie at Leyton Orient in November 2021, featuring for 76 minutes.

He made his full league debut for the Addicks in September 2022 against Forest Green Rovers.

The club exercised an option to extend Chin's contract until the summer of 2024 in March 2023 and he subsequently joined National League South side Dartford on loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign.

Chin rejoined Dartford on loan until December 23rd in November 2023.

In February 2024, he joined National League South outfit Bath City on loan until the end of the season.
