Player Biography

Lucas Ness joined the Addicks from Metropolitan Police in the summer of 2020 following a successful trial period.

The defender made his first team debut for the Addicks in a Papa John's Trophy tie with Brighton & Hove Albion U21s in September 2020.

Ness enjoyed a successful loan spell with Hampton & Richmond Borough in the second half of the 2021/22 campaign, making 13 appearances for the National League South outfit.

In May 2022, Ness penned a new two-year contract with the club and he joined National League side Torquay United on loan in October 2022.

He returned to Charlton in November 2022 after making eight appearances for the Gulls, two of which came in Emirates FA Cup ties with Derby County.

The centre-back's breakthrough 2022/23 campaign was recognised by Charlton fans, who voted Ness as their Player of the Month for January and February. Prior to a season-ending injury in March 2023, he had earned 16 consecutive starts.

In April 2024, the club triggered the one-year extension clause in Ness’ contract, keeping him with the Addicks until the summer of 2025.
