2026 Upbeats Walk raises over £30,000

-

Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) are pleased to confirm that the 2026 Upbeats Walk has raised £30,363 for the much-loved Down’s syndrome programme.

200 walkers joined this year’s seven-mile trek from the club’s Sparrows Lane Training Ground in New Eltham to The Valley on Saturday, April 25th, crossing the finish line ahead of the men’s first-team victory over Hull City.

The Upbeats programme is entirely funded by donations and relies on the funds raised by the annual Upbeats Walk to continue providing new and exciting opportunities for its members.

Addicks legends Peter Garland, Colin Walsh, Paul Mortimer, John Humphrey, Kim Dixson and Simon Webster all joined supporters on this year’s walk, which concluded when the Upbeats led walkers pitchside at The Valley. Those who stayed on for the game then saw the Upbeats take to the pitch again at half-time for a lap of honour, where they received a warm reception from supporters of both sides.

CACT would like to thank ReebokThe Bubble and Sausage New Eltham, and Swizzels for their generous support in providing commemorative shirts, food and refreshments for participants throughout the day.

And the biggest thank you goes to all those supporters who took part in the walk and who have donated to the cause.

There is still time to donate and support the Upbeats if you have not done so already.
