Charlton Athletic and Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) marked the club’s Young Greenwich-themed matchday on Saturday.
Nathan Jones’ side later went on to record a win against Sheffield United, rounding off a positive day all-round at The Valley.
Ahead of kick-off, Young Greenwich hosted activities at the Valley Central Youth Hub, giving young Addicks and their families the chance to get involved and learn more about the borough’s universal youth service.
Young Greenwich has been delivered by CACT on behalf of the Royal Borough of Greenwich since April 2012. The service is delivered across four youth hubs in the borough, including the Valley Central Youth Hub.
Home supporters were able to take part in a range of fun activities before the match, including arts and crafts, face painting, DJ decks and photography, as well as meeting club mascots Floyd and Harvey. CACT’s youth engagement vehicles were also outside The Valley, offering additional activities for young people to get involved in. Free Young Greenwich merchandise, including tote bags and pens, were also available throughout the afternoon.
The themed matchday provided an opportunity for young people and families to find out more about the 70 activities Young Greenwich runs on a weekly basis across the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
