Charlton legends Steve Brown and Alan Curbishley reserved special praise for club captain Greg Docherty on the latest CharltonTV monthly show.
The skipper has led the Addicks out in every league game so far this season, playing a pivotal role in Charlton’s positive start.
"I think he has been in excellent form, and it goes unnoticed," Brown said on CharltonTV. "The drive he has in that midfield position, he goes toe-to-toe with the opposition. He’s got a good engine, one of the best in the team, and doesn’t mind a challenge here or there.
"I think he has really stepped up to the plate this year."
Curbishley added: "The thing about Doc [Docherty] is that he has got that pace over 10, 15 yards.
"He can stop things, he can intercept, and he can turn a dangerous situation into our favour. He’s not afraid to put his foot in, he just epitomises where we are at the moment."
