Sonny Carey says he is loving life with the Addicks following an impressive debut in last weekend's victory over Watford.
The summer signing's all-action display was recognised by supporters, who voted the midfielder as their Player of the Match.
"The atmosphere was electric," said Carey. "It's probably the best atmosphere I've played in and to get the winning the goal at the end, which I thought we deserved, was really good.
"It's a great group of lads and the players and the staff have all been really welcoming to me. I've settled in really well and I'm enjoying every minute at the moment."
Nathan Jones was delighted to bring in long-term target Carey, who admits he was taken aback by the gaffer's presentation to him.
"When I was playing for King's Lynn in non-League and the gaffer was at Luton, I was aware that there was a bit of interest there but nothing obviously came of it," he explained. "When he came calling back in June and I had the Zoom call with him, I knew straight away that the visions he had for the club was unmatched. I knew it was the place that I wanted to be and he was a manager that I wanted to play for.
"I think the call was about 45 minutes and he gave me a presentation on the club," added the 24-year-old. "I was a bit blown away really with all the plans and everything that he has set in place for the club and what he wants to do this season. It was a really good call and I remember coming off and saying to my agent, 'I want to be a part of that!'"
