Charlton Athletic can confirm that defender Charlotte Newsham sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during the Addicks’ WSL2 fixture against Birmingham City on Saturday, May 2nd.
The 25-year-old’s diagnosis also confirmed that she has suffered damage to her lateral collateral ligament (LCL), posterolateral corner and hamstring tendon.
Newsham will now undergo a rehabilitation process. The club will support Charlotte through her recovery and wish her all the best.
