Charlton goalkeeper Wollacott visits community trust course

Jojo Wollacott took part in a Q&A with CACT participants

Charlton Athletic men’s first-team goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott paid a visit to a Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) holiday football course in New Eltham on Tuesday 20 December.

The Ghana international, 26, took a wide range of questions from young people on the course about his club and international career.

Wollacott, who arrived in SE7 in June, underwent a successful operation on a fractured finger last month, before joining the Ghana squad for the World Cup in Qatar to encourage his teammates.

As well as his experiences as a Charlton player, course participants asked him about his time as a full international, and challenges such as playing against Neymar, Vinicius and Brazil in September.

Michael Ward, CACT’s Head of Football & Sports Development, said:

“We were delighted to welcome Jojo Wollacott to our Training Ground holiday course on Tuesday.

“He took various questions from our young participants, signed merchandise, posed for photographs and shared advice with those taking part in the course. We’re grateful for players who take the time to visit our programmes and feel these visits are an important addition to the football courses we run.”

CACT holiday courses are taking place in New Eltham, Maidstone and Ashford until the end of Wednesday 21 December and will return in February 2023. Click here to find out more about the courses and book a place
