Charlton

The Addicks return to The Oakwood on Wednesday evening, facing Birmingham City in their second Continental Cup fixture (KO 7pm GMT). In a crucial Group E clash, Charlton are looking to secure their first win in this year’s competition and replicate their run of success across the Championship this season.

The Addicks will be in Cup action for the first time since October where they were on the wrong end of a narrow 2-1 loss to WSL outfit West Ham.

Karen Hills’ side head into the battle off the back of Sunday’s draw with Sunderland at The Valley and will be hoping to earn maximum points against the West Midlands side to take them level on points with Brighton and West Ham.

Birmingham

Birmingham City travel to the capital following their 3-1 victory over Durham on Sunday, enough to leave them with five wins from five matches and only two points behind first-place Charlton in the Championship.

As attention turns to the Conti Cup, the Blues face the same fate as their hosts in search of their first points of the competition.Birmingham

Head-to-Head

The two teams met recently in September, with Karen Hills’ side taking all three points after Kayleigh Green’s 59th-minute penalty proved to be the difference between the Addicks and the Blues.

Before that, a trip to St Andrew’s in March 2023 saw Charlton produce a resounding second-half comeback thanks to goals from Kiera Skeels and Melissa Johnson – enough to share the points with Darren Carter’s side after a 2-2 thriller.
