Charlton legend Alan Curbishley is relishing the prospect of a special atmosphere when the Addicks take on Millwall at The Valley tomorrow (KO 12.30pm BST).
"I think it's going to be a terrific atmosphere," he said, speaking on CharltonTV’s monthly show. "We talk a lot about the old days - the crowds at the time, the Premier League years - perhaps a bit too much. But this is going to be a proper game. This is how it was, the atmosphere."
Curbishley believes tomorrow’s clash, the highest attended between the two sides in more than 50 years, will offer supporters and owners alike a reminder of what The Valley can be at its very best.
"I think whoever comes here, some of the owners may be here who haven’t really seen an atmosphere like this, it’s going to be proper," he continued. "I just hope we respond and get the result."
