Ezri Konsa praises Steve Avory on Lions' Den

Charlton Athletic academy graduate Ezri Konsa was full of praise for the club's former Academy Director Steve Avory during an appearance on England's popular Lions' Den show.

The defender, who earned his World Cup debut in the Three Lions' 4-2 victory over Croatia, highlighted Avory's influence on his impressive rise when asked to name an off-pitch role model.

"Steve Avory played a big part in my career," Konsa explained. "When I was younger at Charlton there were times where nobody believed in me, nobody thought I'd get to where I am now.

"He was always the man to push me, motivate me and remind me how good I was," he added. "Even to this day now, we still speak. He's a big part as to why I'm here now. He probably gave me that strong mindset as well that I have."
