Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce the appointment of Greg Miller as the club’s new Academy Manager.

Miller will take up the role in March after completing his notice period at Portsmouth, where he has been Academy Manager since 2021.

After a playing career that included spells at a number of Scottish sides, he coached a number of youth sides north of the border before joining Barnsley in 2017.

Miller replaces Tom Pell, who left to join Tottenham Hotspur at the end of 2025. Legendary Academy Director Steve Avory is currently running the academy on an interim basis and played a key role in the recruitment process.

Managing Director James Rodwell said: "It’s no secret that we have one of the best academies in the country, and I’m delighted that Greg is joining us as our new Academy Manager to help drive us forward.

"We interviewed a number of outstanding candidates through a detailed and testing process, and Greg stood out at every stage. He brings an excellent combination of on-field experience and an exciting vision for the future of our academy.

"I’d also like to thank Portsmouth for their cooperation and professionalism throughout the process."

Interim Academy Director Steve Avory added: "We are very pleased that Greg is coming to lead our academy. He really impressed us in what was a very thorough, robust and challenging interview process.

"He brings with him a wealth of experience in Youth Development Programmes, most recently at Barnsley and Portsmouth. I’m confident that we’ve got a very experienced leader to take our academy forward."
