Charlton legend John Robinson is partnering with the club and community trust to set up several programmes, ranging from a development academy, camps, and talent identification in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, whilst also offering players opportunities to gain scholarships at the University of Greenwich.
The former Addick will start by running a summer camp in Abu Dhabi from August 15th – 19th and Dubai from August 22nd – 26th for youngsters between the ages of 5 to 16. The development academy programme starts on August 29th in Dubai.

Robinson said: “This is a great opportunity and I'm really excited about it. My Charlton story started back in 1992 and for this to be the next chapter - representing the club in its first overseas venture since Thomas Sandgaard's takeover - makes me very proud.
“In Dubai, we have a great partner in My Sports Academy. They have been there for 10 years and have a fantastic foundation laid, as well as partnerships with international schools. We also have a great partner in Abu Dhabi called PASS, who have over 1,000 children taking part in their weekly training programmes.
“The dream for us is to grow the club's international supporter base through our engagement with them and, in the long term, provide players the opportunity to experience what Charlton has to offer and hopefully have players a pathway into the club's academy and first team.”

“By setting up these programs in the United Arab Emirates, we’re hoping to grow international fanbase and provide a pathway for any particularly talented youngsters to the club’s academy.”
