Karen Hills signs contract extension with Charlton

Karen Hills

Charlton Athletic Women are delighted to announce that manager Karen Hills has signed a new contract extension with the club.

Hills joined Charlton as the head coach in the summer of 2021 after a hugely successful spell as manager of Tottenham Hotspur Women, where she led the club from the third tier to the Barclays Women’s Super League and helped establish them as a top-flight side.

Before her coaching career, Hills enjoyed a distinguished playing career, which included playing for Charlton Athletic Women. During her time as a player with the Addicks, she lifted the FA Cup and also won the League Cup, cementing her place in the club’s history.

Since re-joining Charlton as manager, Hills has overseen significant progress both on and off the pitch. Under her leadership, the Addicks have established themselves as a competitive force in the Barclays Women’s Championship, consistently challenging at the top end of the table and building a strong, ambitious squad.

Speaking on her new deal, she said: "Coaching this team is a privilege, extending my contract means extending my commitment to the players, the supporters, and the vision we’re all working towards."

In 2024, Hills further underlined her commitment to development by achieving her UEFA Pro Licence, the highest coaching qualification in European football.

Congratulations, Karen!
