TEAM NEWS

The Addicks will check on the availability of an unnamed player following a bout of illness, while Garner confirmed Jes Rak-Sakyi (ankle) has trained all week having been withdrawn at Barnsley last weekend with a minor knock.

Academy graduate Aaron Henry (knee) is unavailable after picking up an injury during the U21s’ win at Watford on Tuesday.

Saturday’s fixture comes too soon for Chuks Aneke (calf), who is set to resume full training in the latter stage of next week.

U’s quartet Elliott Moore, Josh Murphy, Sam Baldock and Matt Taylor could all return for the visitors this weekend. Summer recruit Yanic Wildschut (hamstring) remains sidelined.

THE OPPOSITION

Oxford’s game against Fleetwood Town last weekend was postponed owing to the international break, meaning the U’s travel to The Valley on the back of successive league defeats against Plymouth Argyle and MK Dons respectively.

Managed by former Addicks boss Karl Robinson, the U’s currently sit 19th in the standings having claimed 10 points from their nine league outings to date.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Charlton and Oxford have gone toe-to-toe on 48 previous occasions with the Addicks winning 18, the U’s 12 and the remaining 18 fixtures resulting in draws.

The last meeting between the two sides came at The Valley in February, when the visitors ran out 4-0 victors.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Robert Madley will be the man in the middle on Saturday. The official last refereed a Charlton game in April – a 2-1 defeat at home to Lincoln City.

Madley will be assisted by James Wilson and Andrew Aylott, while Darren Handley is the fourth official.
