U21 CUP REPORT | Metropolitan Police 1 Charlton 2

'

Charlton's U21s secured their spot in the final of the London Senior Cup with a 2-1 win against Metropolitan Police on Thursday evening.

Chris Lock’s side took the lead inside five minutes through Seydil Toure, before Kai Enslin netted a second on the cusp of half-time.

It was a dream start to the encounter for the young Addicks as Toure headed home Harvey Kedwell's neat cross at the back post.

The hosts came close to levelling the scoring in the 35th minute when Mason Galloway’s header struck the bar.

Charlton went two goals to the good on the stroke of the break as Ryan Huke crossed for Enslin, who made no mistake and fired into the back of the net.

The young Addicks almost added a third 10 minutes from time when captain Keenan Gough rattled the bar with a headed effort.

In the dying embers, the Blues pulled one back through Cameron Edwin, who bundled the ball across the line in the 95th minute.

Charlton, who lifted the London Senior Cup in 2023, have now reached back-to-back finals and will take on Hendon for the right to be crowned 2024 champions.
