Miami University students visit The Valley

'

A group of students from Miami (Ohio) University visited The Valley on Saturday to watch Charlton's 1-1 draw with Wycombe Wanderers.

As part of their study abroad programme, the students are currently examining the culture and management of English football.

Ethan Swinciki explained what brought the students to SE7. He said: “We’re all taking part in a study abroad programme, learning more about the culture and management of English football. We’ve gone to a match at every single level of the professional pyramid from the Premier League down to League Two.

"It’s really kind of learning a lot more about the bigger clubs, the smaller clubs and their family and culture aspects.

“The atmosphere here is great. We were walking around for a couple hours beforehand seeing all the fans, going to get some food at the cafes and halal kebab stations. It was super cool and it feels like everyone's here just to have a good time."

Dylan Forche added: "I think The Valley's better than a lot of the Prem grounds we've seen. For a club in League One to have a ground like this is really something special."

The Addicks return to The Valley on Saturday to take on Shrewsbury Town (3pm KO BST). Click here to purchase your tickets.
