Karen Hills' side maintain their undefeated league run on the road and move up to second in the table after a stoppage-time Kayleigh Green penalty sealed the 1-0 win over the Rooks. 

It was a highly energised Friday night fixture at The Dripping Pan which saw both teams come firing out of the blocks, Kayleigh Green had the first shot on goal after she came charging up the field but her strike was wide of the mark. 

The Addicks continued to press, Freda Ayisi got in on the action, winning the ball high up the pitch, but the Lewes defence scrambled to clear their lines and prevent Charlton from taking the lead.

In the 19th minute, Melissa Johnson raced forward, but her strike failed to find the breakthrough. 

Carla Humphrey spread the ball wide to Rebecca McKenna in the 31st minute, who delivered a cross into the box. Johnson lunged to connect with the cross, but couldn't quite generate enough power, allowing Lewes' goalkeeper, Sophie Whitehouse, to gather the ball.

Just when Charlton seemed to be in control, the tide turned in the 33rd minute. Lewes unleashed a ferocious attack, causing a goalmouth scramble from a free kick, but Sian Rogers managed to keep the ball out of her net. 

In the 40th minute, Charlton's resilient defence stood tall once again, clearing their lines as far as Hamilton. However, her audacious effort was met by Rogers, whose arm denied Lewes the breakthrough.

Shortly after the interval Freya Godfrey entered the game with her runs causing problems for Lewes. In the 63rd minute, Kate Longhurst and Shauna Vassell both received a red card, reducing both teams to 10. 

In the 69th minute,  Godfrey came charging up the wing set her cross into the box sending a threaning cross into the box but Lewes' resilience held firm. 

Godfrey came charging down the left flank once again cutting inside the box and was awarded a penalty for contact in the box. Welsh international Kayleigh Green calmly stepped up in stoppage time to secure Charlton's win and her fifth goal of the campaign.
