Reuben Amissah joins Charlton's academy

Charlton Athletic have bolstered their academy ranks with the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Reuben Amissah.

Amissah joins the Addicks following an eight-year spell at AFC Wimbledon, which included a loan stint with non-League side Marlow in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.

After completing his switch to Charlton, Amissah said: "It’s a really great feeling. I’m very happy to sign for this big club and I just can’t wait to get started."

Academy Manager Tom Pell added: "Reuben is a player that showed us his potential during his trial period in pre-season and the early part of the season. He’s a player who can handle the ball, carry it up the pitch and break lines with his physicality.

"We hope that he takes confidence from us offering him a professional contract and shows himself and the staff what he can really do, week in, week out. He has great support staff around him to give himself every chance and if we can see that aggression to his play, both in and out of possession, we feel he can really kick on."

Charlton fans can support the academy by signing up to the Valley Gold scheme. Valley Gold enables fans to support the club’s academy in unearthing the talents of tomorrow, as well as giving them the chance to win cash prizes.
