Charlton Athletic is excited to announce a partnership with LGBTQ+ run club LES RUN for our Football vs Homophobia game on Sunday, 2nd February!
The event, titled "Run to The Valley", invites participants of all abilities to lace up their trainers and join for a social 5k run to The Valley stadium.
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or new to the sport, this is an opportunity to come together and show support for LGBTQ+ inclusion in football. The run is open to all no matter your sexual orientation!
The run will start from The Valley with a bag drop at Bartram's and return back to the ground for coffee (or pints) in our bartrams fan area!
Football v Homophobia exists to challenge discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and expression at all levels in football. This is with the aim to make existing football structures safe, welcoming and inclusive for LGBTQ people, as well as create opportunities and improve representation of LGBTQ people.
LES RUN is an LGBTQ+ running club which started in September 2024 by Phoebe Webster and Robyn Tallis who both played football in their youth. They created this run club to empower queer women, trans and non binary people through fitness and community and align perfectly with the values of Charlton Athletic's Football vs Homophobia matchday.
