The former Addicks stopper played a key part in Alan Curbishley's legendary side which won promotion in 1998, keeping nine consecutive clean sheets in the run-up to the play-off final against Sunderland at Wembley, before making the vital save in the penalty shootout to send Charlton to the Premier League.
