Charlton Athletic are delighted to confirm the appointment of club legend Steve Brown to the permanent role of Head of Youth Partnerships.
As part of his new role, Brown, who made 283 appearances for the Addicks between 1991 and 2003, will also take on additional responsibilities as a Club Ambassador.
The former defender will lead the club’s youth development partnerships and provide strategic football advice to the club’s Board. He will continue with his existing responsibilities, including contributing to CharltonTV productions, leading the Ex-Players’ Association, and serving on the Charlton Advisory Board in the ex-player seat.
Chairman of the club’s Board Gavin Carter said: "We’re pleased that Steve Brown has taken on a permanent role at the club. As a Hall of Fame former player, Steve knows what Charlton can be at its best, and he understands the standards and hard work required to get there.
"In recent years, he’s made a valuable contribution across the club, from his work on CharltonTV to helping establish the Ex-Players’ Association and serving on the Charlton Advisory Board. He brings strong football knowledge, a deep understanding of the club’s identity, and real insight into the wider game.
"Steve has been a trusted sounding board for me since I first got involved. I’m proud he’s chosen to commit to Charlton and continue his own career development here. He will be a great asset as we move the club forward."
