Charlton U18s picked up their first win of the season at the weekend, tasting triumph in a 3-0 encounter at Sparrows Lane against Coventry City.
Samuel Washington-Amoah and Emmanuel Sol-Loza both netted for Jason Pearce’s side, with Marley Dawkins adding the finishing touches 15 minutes from time.
Our first of the afternoon came as Washington-Amoah capitalised on a loose touch at the back, the forward homed in on goal, dropping the defender not once, but twice with some superb footwork, firing in a low strike to establish a lead within five minutes.
The young Addicks went two goals to the good within minutes of the half-time restart as Finlay Woodham launched the ball deep into the Sky Blues’ half. A flick-on was received from Bradley Tagoe, allowing Sol-Loza to sneak in behind the Coventry defence, slotting in with ease.
Finally, the scoring was rounded off in the 75th minute as a cross was swung in toward the back post. The keeper spilled his catch, seeing the ball drop to Dawkins who fired into an empty net to seal three points on home soil.
Up next for the U18s is a trip to Huddersfield Town next Saturday (KO 11am BST).
