Charlton's U21s were condemned to a 4-0 defeat by AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League Cup on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts opened the scoring at New Cuthbury inside the opening three minutes through Daniel Adu-Adjei, who fired home after Dominic Sadi had retrieved possession.

Nine minutes later, Bournemouth added a second through Balraj Landa, assisted by Adu-Adjei.

The young Addicks were then forced into a change as Alan Mwamba replaced Ollie Hobden.

The hosts bagged their third of the afternoon on the 15-minute mark when Sadi poked home from close range.

Charlton produced a stronger second-half performance, but the hosts added a fourth with 17 minutes remaining as Adu-Adjei fired into the bottom corner from an angle to secure his brace.

Up next for the U21s is a Professional Development League 2 - South clash against Swansea City at Sparrows Lane on Tuesday.
