Charlton’s U21s were forced to settle for a point on Tuesday evening, after a 1-1 draw with Preston North End U21s in the Premier League Cup.

New arrival Jérôme Roussillon played 45 minutes for Chris Lock’s side as he looked to gain match sharpness. He was replaced by Bradley Tagoe at the break.

Paris Lock opened the scoring for the young Addicks seconds into the second half, pouncing on a loose pass, driving forward and coolly finishing.

Charlton’s lead lasted 20 minutes until Kacper Pasiek brought Preston level. His strike looped over George Hardy and into the back of the net.

In the latter stages of the game, both teams had to manage challenging conditions as the rain fell in Dartford.

The game ended all square, and Charlton remain the top of Group C in the Premier League Cup.

The young Addicks are next in action on Tuesday December 9th, as they take on Maidstone United in the Kent Senior Cup at Gallagher Stadium (KO 7.45pm GMT).
