Goalkeeper Ben Amos named in EFL Team of the Week

Goalkeeper Ben Amos has been named in the EFL’s Team of the Week for his stupendous performance against Blackburn Rovers at The Valley on Saturday.

The stopper was in unbeatable form, particularly in the second half where he claimed almost every cross that came into his box and made three outstanding saves to deny Jack Payne twice and Dominic Samuel once.

The clean sheet was Amos’ 14th of the season and helped secured Charlton’s third win in a row. The Addicks still sit fifth in the Sky Bet League One table on 71 points with one match of the regular season to play.

They head to Rochdale on Saturday where they will be backed by another healthy away following. More than 1,000 tickets for the match have already been sold and they remain on sale. Additional spaces on the Valley Away coaches are now also available to book.

Amos was not the only Addick to be recognised for his performance against Rovers. Lee Bowyer was named as the Football League Paper’s ‘Top Boss’ for League One and Ahmed Kashi was included in the third tier’s Team of the Week
