Joe Aribo: “We just want to get back out there and play”

We caught up with Joe Aribo this week to talk about the upcoming play-off Semi-final away at Doncaster Rovers on Sunday. Speaking about the mood in the camp, Aribo insisted there was a feel good factor.

“All the boys are just buzzing, and we can’t wait to get ready to go. Training’s going to be good this week. There’s high spirits and we just want to get back out there and play.

"When we’re going into the game there’s that sense of confidence, we feel like we can go out there and do the job that we have to do. There’s just that buzz and we’ve got the fans with us, backing us, and it just feels a lot better than compared to last year”

Continuing about the fans, Aribo stressed the importance of the role the supporters have continued to play this season.

“The backing of the fans is important and that’s what is going to get us going, just like (Lee Bowyer) said the other day, if we hear that crowd cheering our names it’ll be important and it’ll just help us make that extra yard and give us that extra confidence.”

Despite the importance of the game, Aribo spoke of maintaining focus and keeping a cool head.

“You can’t let the occasion get the better of you, you’ve just got to stick to what you would normally be doing and don’t try and change, because if you do that then you’re thinking too much. We’ve just got to have a normal week really.”

And finally speaking on his goal-scoring form, Aribo is hoping to get on the score-sheet again come Sunday.

“Hopefully I can get another (goal) on Sunday!”
