Along with Matthews, Jonny Williams will start as will Jake Forster-Caskey.

With the suspension of Ryan Inniss at centre-half, Bowyer may look to employ Darren Pratley as part of his backline. He will be joined by Ian Maatsen, Akin Famewo, Chris Gunter and Matthews.

Williams and Forster-Caskey will be joined by Andrew Shinnie in the middle of the park, while Conor Washington and Omar Bogle will lead the charge. Ben Amos retains his usual place between the sticks.

Ryan Inniss and Ben Watson all miss out through one-game suspensions, while Alfie Doughty, Jason Pearce and Deji Oshilaja remain sidelined with injury.

Marcus Maddison also misses out after picking up a minor knock in training on Friday.

On the bench, Ashley Maynard-Brewer is joined by Ben Purrington, Chuks Aneke, Albie Morgan, Dylan Levitt, Paul Smyth and James Vennings.
