Saturday's match at The Valley against Peterborough United will be sponsored by Mind in Bexley and East Kent Ltd.
David Palmer CEO of Mind in Bexley said: "We were established in 1986 affiliated to the national charity MIND. Mind in Bexley is a forward-facing organisation, we take an integrated approach to the inextricable link between physical and mental health and the social, economic and cultural impacts on health. As a service provider we offer a wide variety of outcome-based services including IAPT (talking therapies and counselling), a recovery service, welfare rights, advocacy, employment support initiatives and a carer’s support service. We also operate an out of hours Crisis Café and flourishing Social Enterprise café hubs in Bexleyheath, Whitstable Ramsgate. The organisation works in Bexley and across East Kent.
"The pressures on Mental Health services were all too evident before the COVID-19 pandemic, the unprecedented situation we are all now faced with has undoubtedly increased the pressure on services as we all grapple with the consequences of loss, isolation, insecurity, anxiety and fear.
"The impact of COVID-19 is widespread, on our staff, service users and significantly on our café mental health hubs. The ‘new normal’ is far from normal and we need to come out of this stronger than before working together to try to heal our families and our communities."
