Please see below an open letter to Charlton fans from the club's Board of Directors.
Dear Charlton Athletic supporters,
We write to you at the end of this week as the Board of your great club and as a custodian of English football.
This has been a remarkable time for English football in seeing fans and clubs get together to rebut a breakaway franchise Super League. It has been a David and Goliath moment, and we are proud to be a member of this active and vocal community.
Recent events have highlighted the strength of the fundamentals of our system, but also the inequities in the system that need to be reviewed; we appreciate the momentum that is now at stake.
As a next step, we will be working alongside fellow clubs and owners to continue to find improved solutions to football governance in this country.
We are building a Charlton for the future that encompasses diversity, equality, and innovation and we will continue to advocate the Charlton way on and off the pitch.
