The following protocols will be put in place for the commencement of the new 2021/22 season at The Valley. These protocols may change during the course of the season should the government or league regulations determine the need to do so.
The club will continue to display signage in relation to symptoms of Covid outside of each turnstile block. This signage will be supported by staff from the Charlton Athletic Community Trust’ advising supporters what to do should any fan have these symptoms.
Signage will be displayed advising fans who have any concerns to wear masks for their own protection. The wearing of masks will not be enforced inside the stadium.
The club encourages fans to undertake testing in advance of attending matches at The Valley, and for any fan who tests positive not to attend, thus reducing the risks to their fellow supporters.
Staff who test positive should not attend work and should self-isolate.
From August 16th, fans who have been fully vaccinated (with two doses of an MHRA approved vaccine, at least 14 days previously) will no longer be required by law to self-isolate if they are a close contact of someone who has tested positive for Covid. The Royal Greenwich Public Health Team recommends that they do, in particular if they share a household with or care for someone who has tested positive.
The ticket office will reserve two blocks, one in the Alan Curbishley Stand, and one in the West Stand where supporters who prefer to wear masks throughout the event, will be able to do so. Supporters who wish to take this up should contact the ticket office in advance of game.
On entry to the turnstiles, no temperature checks will be taken. Sanitising units for the cleaning of hands will be available.
All kiosks on the concourse areas will be operational. Fans are requested to queue in an orderly fashion and to try and observe social distancing where possible.
