MATCH PREVIEW | Watford Women v Charlton

Charlton conclude their Continental Cup group stage campaign on Wednesday night (7.30pm) when they travel to the Orbital Fasteners Stadium to take on Watford Women.

The Addicks currently sit third in Group C, having followed up a narrow 1-0 defeat against Women’s Super League outfit Tottenham Hotspur with a 3-1 triumph over Coventry United.

A win for Charlton would likely result in the Addicks finishing second of four Group C, meaning they would have to be the leading second-placed team to qualify for the quarter-finals. The full table can be found here.

Charlton’s last meeting with Watford came in early October and saw the Addicks prevail 4-0, with Elise Hughes bagging a perfect hat-trick after Anna Filbey had opened the scoring.

Karen Hills’ side saw their Vitality Women’s FA Cup third-round tie at Gillingham postponed last Sunday owing to a waterlogged pitch, meaning the Addicks haven’t played since defeating London City Lionesses 2-0 on Sunday, November 21st.

Supporters can follow Wednesday’s game on the team's official Twitter account.
