MATCH PREVIEW | Bolton Wanderers v Charlton

Charlton are back in Sky Bet League One action on Tuesday night (8pm) as Johnnie Jackson’s side head to the University of Bolton Stadium to take on Bolton Wanderers.

The Addicks will be looking to secure a fourth successive league victory having extended their unbeaten run in the third-tier to four games with a 3-2 win over AFC Wimbledon at The Valley on Saturday.

Jake Forster-Caskey (ACL) and Jayden Stockley (hip) remain absent as they continue their respective recoveries, with Corey Blackett-Taylor (hamstring) also set to miss out.

Bolton boss Ian Evatt has revealed the hosts have lodged an appeal to have captain Ricardo Almeida Santos’ red card at Morecambe overturned, though long-term absentees Josh Sheehan (ACL), Lloyd Isgrove (hamstring) and Elias Kachunga (thigh) remain sidelined.

Evatt also confirmed the availability of Gethin Jones (lower leg) and Kieran Lee (heel), while Xavier Amaechi could also return having recently featured for Wanderers’ Reserves side.

Only goals for separate the Addicks from Evatt’s resurgent Wanderers side, who are currently enjoying a five-match unbeaten run.

That run appeared to be coming to a halt at Morecambe on Saturday, only for Amadou Bakayoko to fire home at the very death to salvage a point for Bolton.

Charlton and Bolton have gone toe-to-toe on 92 previous occasions with the Addicks winning 29, Wanderers 43 and the remaining 20 encounters resulting in draws.

The reverse fixture at The Valley proved to be one to forget for the Addicks, who fell to a 4-1 defeat despite Josh Davison’s 12th-minute opener.

Our last trip to the University of Bolton Stadium, meanwhile, saw 10-man Charlton come from behind to claim a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Patrick Bauer and Nathan Byrne.

Ben Toner will be the man in the middle on Tuesday night. The official last refereed a Charlton fixture in March 2019 - a 1-1 draw at Doncaster Rovers.

Toner will be assisted by Richard Woodward and Bradley Hall, while Thomas Kirk is the Fourth Official.

The Addicks will be donning their home strip at the University of Bolton Stadium.
