MATCH PREVIEW | Charlton v MK Dons

The Addicks face an immediate turnaround in Sky Bet League One on Tuesday night as MK Dons visit The Valley.

A second home game in four days provides Johnnie Jackson’s men with an opportunity to turn around their recent fortunes having now gone three games without tasting victory.

TEAM NEWS

The Addicks will be without the suspended Sean Clare, who serves the first of his three-match suspension, whilst Corey Blackett-Taylor (hamstring), Jake Forster-Caskey (ACL) and Jayden Stockley (back) also remain sidelined.

Tuesday’s fixture is expected to come too soon for attacking trio Scott Fraser, Chuks Aneke and Conor Washington.

Aden Baldwin (ankle) is the visitors’ only injury concern, though wing-back Daniel Harvie is suspended having collected a tenth caution of the campaign last weekend.

THE OPPOSITION

MK Dons have mounted a very strong promotion push this term having lost just one of their last 12 league outings, leaving them sat just three points adrift of second-placed Wigan Athletic - albeit having played three more games than the Latics.

Liam Manning’s side earned a 2-1 triumph over Sunderland last time out to extend their unbeaten run to six games - with the Buckinghamshire side’s last away league defeat coming in late November at Hillsborough.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Charlton and MK Dons have gone toe-to-toe on 20 previous occasions with the Addicks winning nine, the Dons seven and the remaining four encounters resulting in draws.

The reverse fixture at Stadium MK saw the hosts cancel out Stockley’s early opener to earn a 2-1 victory, thanks to goals from Troy Parrott and Mo Eisa.

MK Dons’ last visit to The Valley, meanwhile, came in the Papa John’s Trophy January, when Jonathan Leko’s injury-time header booked the Addicks’ place in the quarter-finals.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Sam Purkiss will control proceedings on Tuesday night. The official last refereed a Charlton fixture in November 2021 - a 2-1 Papa John’s Trophy defeat at Leyton Orient.

Purkiss will be assisted by Anthony Da Costa and Christopher Kidd, while Paul Howard is the Fourth Official.
