LOAN WATCH | Vennings books Wembley date

Eight Addicks have been in action for their respective loan clubs over the past week.

James Vennings claimed the headlines as he helped guide Bromley into the FA Trophy final with a 3-1 triumph over York City. The midfielder played the full 90 minutes at Hayes Lane as the Ravens came from behind to book a Wembley showdown with Wrexham on Sunday, May 22nd.

Vennings was then an unused substitute in midweek as Bromley fell to a 1-0 defeat at King’s Lynn Town on Tuesday evening.

Lucas Ness continued his impressive form of late, playing the entirety of Hampton & Richmond’s 1-0 victory against Braintree Town and subsequently earning a place in the Vanarama National League South Team of the Week.

The defender was also in action for the Beavers on Tuesday as he helped his side record another clean sheet, this time in a goalless draw with Tonbridge Angels.

Ness’ U23s team-mate, Wassim Aouachria, enjoyed late cameos in both fixtures as Gary McCann’s side climbed to 13th in National League South.

Josh Davison played the full match for Swindon Town on Sunday as they shared a goalless draw away at Rochdale. That result leaves the Robins sat 9th in Sky Bet League Two, just two points adrift of the play-off places and with a game in hand on seventh-placed Tranmere Rovers.

Johl Powell played 86 minutes of Maidstone United’s 4-0 victory over Havant & Waterlooville at the Gallagher Stadium, while Hady Ghandour replaced hat-trick hero Jack Barham late on as the Stones recorded a 12th successive home triumph.

Both Aaron Henry and Charles Clayden played the entirety of Wealdstone’s 2-0 reverse against FC Halifax Town at The Shay, before doing likewise on Tuesday in a goalless stalemate with Maidenhead United on home soil.

Meanwhile, Charlie Kirk was not involved for Blackpool as they suffered back-to-back defeats against Nottingham Forest and Preston North End respectively.

Elsewhere, injuries kept Ashley Maynard-Brewer (Ross County), Ben Dempsey (Ayr United) and Dylan Gavin (Billericay Town) out of action last weekend.

Nazir Bakrin’s two-month loan spell at Cray Wanderers recently came to an end. The U23s defender made 10 appearances for the Wands in the Isthmian Premier Division, scoring twice.
