AWAY DAY GUIDE | Portman Road

Heading to Suffolk for final day on Saturday? Here's what to expect from an away day at Portman Road...

TURNSTILES

Away fans are housed in a section of the upper tier of the Cobbold Stand on one side of the pitch, closest to the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand, where up to 1,900 away supporters can be accommodated.

Generally, the view from the away section is fine, but the leg room is rather cramped.

WHERE TO EAT

You will find a McDonald’s and a KFC between the train station and the ground, as well as a Nando’s and an Ask Italian restaurant.

Food and drink facilities are available within the ground, and offer what you would typically expect to find.

All food and drink kiosks at Portman Road are cashless.

WHERE TO DRINK

The Station Hotel is opposite the station and is the official away pub. It is roomy, has a garden and TV screens, and normally has three beers on handpump from the Greene King stable.

Most pubs immediately around the ground are for home fans only, while visiting supporters are unable to access the FanZone at Portman Road.

WHERE TO PARK

There is no official stadium car park, but there is parking located all around the ground. The closest is a large NCP on Portman Road, which is right by the away end and usually has spaces up to around an hour before kick-off. There are also large car parks on West End Road (Five minute's walk away) and at the railway station (less than 10 minutes away).
