Women’s team pay CACT girls only course a visit

Women's team visit girls only FHC

The Charlton Athletic Women first-team squad stopped by at Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s (CACT) girls only holiday courses on Wednesday 9 August along with Manager Karen Hills and First Team Assistant Manager Riteesh Mishra to meet young participants.

The courses are running at Charlton Athletic’s Sparrows Lane Training Ground in New Eltham throughout the summer holidays and continue three days a week until the end of August.

The squad took part in a short Q&A and signed course certificates.

Many course participants watched the Lionesses play in the Women’s World Cup against Nigeria on Monday 7 August, England winning on penalties to reach the quarter-finals.

Kim Bignall, CACT’s Women and Girls’ Football Development Officer, said:

“I’d like to thank Karen, Riteesh and the many Charlton Athletic Women players who took the time to visit our girls only courses today.

“It’s great to see so many participants attending these courses and increased national interest in women’s and girls football with England’s involvement in the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

“CACT is proud to run a range of women’s and girls football programmes throughout the year, and our relationship with Charlton Athletic Women is key to us continuing to inspire and provide opportunities to future generations.”

Charlton Athletic Women’s Barclays Women’s Championship season gets underway at The Valley against Sheffield United on Sunday 27 August.
