Player Biography

Chuks Aneke rejoined the Addicks in January 2022, putting pen-to-paper on a three-and-a-half year deal.

Born in Newham, the forward came through the ranks at Arsenal. While with the Gunners, Aneke took in loan spells with Stevenage, Preston North End and Crewe Alexandra, before moving to Belgian Pro League side Zulte Waregem in June 2014 upon the expiration of his Arsenal contract.

After spending two seasons in Belgium, making 50 appearances and scoring six goals, Aneke returned to England with MK Dons.

Following an injury-plagued debut campaign in Buckinghamshire, the striker played a pivotal role in helping the Dons earn promotion to back to League One at the first time of asking, bagging 19 goals in the 2018/19 campaign.

Aneke then joined Charlton on a free transfer in the summer of 2019. The England youth international would go on to make 62 appearances, scoring 17 times, across two seasons in SE7, before following former Addicks boss Lee Bowyer to Championship outfit Birmingham City in June 2021.

The frontman enjoyed 10 outings for the Addicks in the latter half of the 2021/22 campaign, bagging four goals.
