Freya Godfrey joined the club in the 2023/24 window on loan from Women’s Super League team Arsenal.

The 18-year-old signed her first professional contract with the Gunners in July 2023 before joining Charlton on loan later that month.

She spent last season under a dual registration agreement with Arsenal and FAWNL Southern Premier Division side Ipswich Town. She impressed for the Tractor Girls and scored on the final day of the season in a 4-0 win against Oxford United, before making her WSL debut four days later.

Godfrey had a successful youth career, scoring 13 times in 18 games for Arsenal in the WSL Academy League and has represented England all the way from under-14 to under-19 levels.
