Joe Rankin-Costello joined Charlton in July 2025, arriving from Blackburn Rovers for an undisclosed fee.

Born in Stockport, Rankin-Costello, who can play a number of roles across the defence and midfield, began his youth career at Manchester United before joining Blackburn, where he progressed through the ranks to sign his first professional contract in January 2017.

Since breaking into Rovers’ first-team during the 2019/20 campaign, he has featured 132 times in all competitions, 115 of which came in the Sky Bet Championship.
