Mary Bashford progressed through Charlton’s Regional Talent Club to reach first-team level.

Bashford is an academy success story, joining the club at the age of 15 and signing her first professional deal in June 2023.

Her talent was recognised very early on, with the promising midfielder being called up to train with the first team while remaining part of the U21 squad. She officially joined the first-team squad in August 2021 and accompanied them on their pre-season training camp in Scotland.

She made her full Charlton debut aged 17 against Gillingham in the FA Trophy at the Valley. She then went on to join the Gills on loan in January 2022, where she scored on her debut.
