Charlton's U21s claimed their first victory in the Premier League Cup on Sunday with a 2-0 triumph at Wolves.

Toby Bower put the young Addicks ahead on 34 minutes before Patrick Casey doubled his side's advantage in the second half.

Charlton started on the front foot at Kidderminster's Aggborough Stadium and forced James Storer into an important save early on. The Wolves stopper was at full stretch to keep out Bower's curling free-kick that was destined for the top corner.

Bower soon bagged the opener, volleying home at the back post after Kam Kandola headed Henry Rylah's cross into his path.

Storer denied Chris Lock's side a second on the stroke of the interval as he repelled Rylah's volley.

Just six minutes after the break, Casey converted the young Addicks' second. Rylah danced his way past the hosts' full-back once again and sent a low ball across the box towards Casey, who controlled and fired home on the volley.

Prince Adegoke produced a fine save late on to preserve his clean sheet, scrambling to his right to claw a deflected effort away.

The U21s are next in action on Wednesday, November 15th, taking on Cockfosters in the first round of the London Senior Cup at Chalk Lane (KO 7.45pm GMT).
