Appleton looks ahead to Burton trip

Michael Appleton has provided a team news update ahead of Saturday's trip to Burton Albion.

Terry Taylor (ankle) is edging closer to a return having resumed full training at Sparrows Lane this week, with Conor McGrandles (calf), Panutche Camará (hamstring) and Chuks Aneke (hamstring) also progressing well.

“Terry’s been with us for a week or so now," said Appleton. "Conor had his first training session yesterday so hopefully there will be no reactions from that.

"Chuks and Pan are maybe two weeks away," he added. "With the way they are progressing at the minute and what the medical team keep telling me, they are certainly showing signs of potentially coming back slightly quicker rather than that being delayed."

Martin Paterson started his reign as Brewers Head Coach with a late 3-2 defeat at Derby County.

“I watched the Derby game on Monday night and one thing for sure is they don’t give in," explained Appleton. "They’ve got a good spirit about them and they make it very, very difficult for you. That will be no different tomorrow.

"We know the task ahead of us and we know what we need to do. We’re certainly going to have to compete and match them in every area. If we do that and we do that on a regular basis throughout the game, then we give ourselves a chance of picking up points.”
