TEAM NEWS

Terry Taylor (ankle) is edging closer to a return having resumed full training at Sparrows Lane this week. Michael Appleton confirmed Conor McGrandles (calf) has also been back on the grass.

Michael Hector (hamstring), Panutche Camará (hamstring), Chuks Aneke (hamstring) and Miles Leaburn (hamstring) remain sidelined.

The hosts will continue to check on the fitness of Sam Hughes (calf) and Bobby Kamwa (hamstring), but Tom Hamer (knee) is unavailable.

THE OPPOSITION

The Brewers currently sit 19th in the Sky Bet League One rankings, five points above the drop zone.

Newly-appointed Head Coach Martin Paterson suffered an agonising defeat in his first game in charge on Monday night. His side produced two goals in 11 minutes to make it 2-2 against Derby County, only for Conor Hourihane to volley home a 93rd-minute winner at Pride Park.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Charlton and Burton have clashed on 10 previous occasions with the Addicks winning six, the Brewers two and the remaining two meetings resulting in draws.

Ryan Sweeney netted a stoppage-time equaliser to earn Burton a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at The Valley in December 2023.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Alan Young will oversee proceedings this weekend. The official has refereed 15 games so far this season and has shown 83 yellow cards and four red cards.

Young will be assisted by Jack Forder and Danny Guest, while Grant Taylor has been appointed as the Fourth Official.

COLOURS

The Addicks will be wearing their black away kit in Staffordshire.
