Ashley Maynard-Brewer has completed a permanent move to Scottish Premiership side Dundee United for an undisclosed fee.

The transfer brings an end to his 10-and-a-half-year association with Charlton Athletic having joined the club’s academy as a teenager.

Since making his professional debut in 2016, the goalkeeper has made 87 appearances for the Addicks across all competitions, including 19 league starts during last season’s promotion-winning campaign.

Managing Director James Rodwell commented: "We’d like to thank Ash for everything he has contributed to the club over more than a decade. He’s an excellent goalkeeper and an outstanding person, and a real credit to our academy. With his contract coming to an end and the World Cup on the horizon this summer, he has reached a stage in his career where regular first-team football is important and this move allows him to do that."

Reflecting on his time at Charlton, Maynard-Brewer said: "I feel extremely grateful to have been at this club for the last 10-and-a-half years. This club gave me the opportunity to come to the UK and become a professional goalkeeper. I was supported by some incredible people like Joe Francis, Steve Avory and Tracey Leaburn.

"I leave with some amazing memories like the play-off campaigns in 2018/19 and 2024/25 and the Carabao Cup run in 2022/23. This club is full of incredible people and I’ve been really lucky to have met so many of you. I wish the club the best in the future!"

Everyone at the club would like to thank Ash for his service and wish him all the very best in the next chapter of his career.
