Chambers: 'The Valley atmosphere is unbelievable'

'

Luke Chambers is looking forward to playing in front of The Valley faithful on Friday night when the Addicks take on Queens Park Rangers (KO 8.01pm GMT).

The defender signed for Nathan Jones' side in the January transfer window and has quickly taken to life in SE7.

"I've settled in really well, I think the lads are class and the staff are really helpful as well, so it's made my life a lot easier."

Chambers registered his first assist for the Addicks last Saturday in a 2-0 win at Leicester City.

"When the ball got cut back, I knew what I was doing before the ball had even come to me. As soon as it came to me, I knew I was going back onto my left foot, to put it in an area where I knew one of the strikers would be there. Dykesy's movement was class and his finish was really good and I was really happy to get my first assist. Hopefully there will be many more to come," he explained.

"I've come here to make an impression on the supporters and to win as many games as we can and hopefully I can work and help towards that.

"The gaffer has been great, his style of play really suits me. It's really intense, a lot of running, a lot of crossing, and it gives me the chance to get up the pitch which I love doing."

The 21-year-old, who played at The Valley during a loan spell with Wigan Athletic, is relishing his first taste of SE7 as an Addick.

"I've played at The Valley with another club and it was tough, so it's good to have the fans on my side! I went to watch a few of the games just before I signed and the atmosphere was unbelievable, so I'm really looking forward to playing in front of them.

"All of the games are really good in this league. QPR are a physical side - they like to go long and make it tough for teams and we need to make sure that we are ready for that and need to compete. We need to play our football and create the chances we did last Saturday.
