Curbishley and Humphrey confirmed for Lennie Lawrence Dinner

Alan Curbishley and John Humphrey are the next names confirmed for the 'Lennie Lawrence Dinner', hosted by the Charlton Athletic Ex-Players' Association at The Valley on Sunday, April 26th.

The duo will be in attendance as the club celebrates its legendary former boss and will be joined by the previously announced Peter Shirtliff, Steve Gritt, Colin Walsh, Jim Melrose, Mark Reid, Carl Leaburn, Mickey Bennett, Robert Lee and George Shipley.

Lawrence was responsible for bringing Curbishley to Charlton as a player in 1984 and he went on to play a key part in the promotion-winning team of 1986, before departing for Brighton & Hove Albion in 1987.

Curbishley then made a return to the Addicks in 1990 and famously took over the managerial reins alongside Steve Gritt following Lawrence's departure in 1991, before enjoying a legendary 15-year spell in the dugout which led to two promotions to the Premier League in 1998 and 2000.

Humphrey, meanwhile, was signed by Lawrence in 1985, with the full-back helping Charlton to promotion in 1986 before playing his part towards the successful play-off winning campaign in 1987 to preserve the Addicks' top-flight status.

After an initial five-year spell at the club, he departed in 1990, before returning for a final season at The Valley for the 1995/96 campaign.

In total, Humphrey made 267 appearances for the club and won three back-to-back Player of the Year crowns in 1988, 1989 and 1990.

Guests will enjoy a two-course dinner and a live Charlton-themed auction during what promises to be a truly memorable evening, which will feature a special tribute in honour of Lawrence, who successfully managed the Addicks between 1982 and 1991.
