DONE DEAL | Kayleigh Green signs for Charlton

Kayleigh Green

Charlton Athletic are thrilled to announce the signing of forward Kayleigh Green on a one-year contract.

The 35-year-old had been with Women's Super League (WSL) outfit Brighton and Hove Albion since 2018 until departing this summer, amassing 110 appearances for the Seagulls to make her the club's most-capped WSL player.

Green also boasts a wealth of international experience having been involved with the Welsh national team for over a decade after making her debut in 2012.

Hailing from Cardiff, Green began her footballing career with local side Cardiff City before enjoying two years with Yeovil Town, as well as a short loan with Italian outfit Chieti Calcio Femminile.

Green expressed her delight after putting pen to paper. She said: "From the moment I walked in the girls have been so welcoming! I feel like I have fitted in straight away which has been great.

"I'm a hard-working player and that is something that I will always show in training sessions, as well as in the game."

Head Coach Karen Hills is thrilled to bring the forward into the club. She added: "Kayleigh is a fantastic signing for us this season. I’ve known and watched Kayleigh from afar for a few seasons now and I believe Kayleigh’s experience and leadership qualities will be key for us to move forward this season. Already having her in and around the group has been great and I’m looking forward to seeing her grow in this team."
