CharltonTV’s Charlotte Richardson sat down with Chief Financial and Operations Officer Ed Warrick ahead of tonight's meeting with Middlesbrough to discuss how the club will remember the late Norman Barker at The Valley.
"He was a season-ticket holder for a very long time and he was the face of our season ticket campaign a few years ago," said Warrick. "He was a very recognisable face up and down the country to Charlton supporters, so it was a big loss to our family."
When asked about the response from supporters and staff at The Valley at the weekend, Warrick spoke with a sense of pride. He said: "It was absolutely extraordinary, both during the game and afterwards in terms of how people of reacted.
"I was so touched by the response of the supporters almost immediately, and the professionalism and speed at which our staff and the medical staff, doctors and ambulance responded.
"The memorial that was erected very quickly was a testament to how Norman was loved. All the Charlton family is very keen to commemorate Norm in their own way.
"We encourage fans to get here early, so they can lay flowers outside the Covered End. We have some on-screen tributes to Norman and there will be a minute's applause with Norman’s family around the pitch."
The club will work with Norman’s family and supporters on a permanent form of recognition. A book of condolences will be available in the club reception from the start of next week.
