Ibrahim Fullah and Miles Leaburn recently attended a school assembly at Halstow Primary School alongside CharltonTV’s Charlotte Richardson, as part of the club's Schools Partnership Scheme.
Joe Armson, the Deputy Headteacher at Halstow Primary School, was delighted with the warm reception the two players received from the children.
"It means absolutely loads to all of the Charlton fansm especially as it's such a local club.
"There's been loads of questions from the children and there's been such a buzz around the school all day - children have even come in Charlton kits themselves!" he explained.
"It means the absolute world to the kids and their families. The club has had its highs and lows, but one thing that has stayed constant is the community work that they do.
"It's more than just a football club, it’s a community. Hopefully, all of the children are inspired to join that community."
Fullah and Leaburn were both quizzed by the Halstow pupils during the assembly.
"It was very heartwarming to see," Fullah said. "There were some good questions from the kids as well!"
Leaburn was impressed with the number of young Addicks in attendance at the school assembly. He said: "I think that this has been my favourite visit so far! The kids were all chanting and engaging with us, and there was a lot of Charlton shirts as well which is always nice to see!"
Through its Schools Partnership Scheme, the club is partnered with over 50 schools in the Greenwich Borough and over 1,500 children have signed up to the scheme to create Addicks fans of the future.
